Sporadic Distractions is where I write fiction in public, one part at a time. No buffer, no backlog — a part goes up when it is finished, and the gaps between them are part of the honesty of the thing.

I write slowly and in series. Right now there are three. Saltglass follows a keeper of tide records who finds a second set of books that should not exist. The Quiet Hours follows a man paid to be the only person awake in an empty building. Interval is written as a screenplay, in scenes, and follows a playwright who keeps turning up at his own play. Others will arrive when they arrive.

I am not trying to build an audience so much as a habit, and a record of one. If you have found your way here, you are welcome to read in any order — though the stories were written to be read in theirs.
